Kibera Community Kitchen
The Kibera Community Kitchen will serve the heart of Africa's largest urban informal settlement, home to an estimated 250,000 residents in Nairobi. Kibera faces severe food insecurity — over 50% of households experience hunger regularly, and children are disproportionately affected, with many attending school on empty stomachs. The Community Kitchen will operate as a daily open-air feeding centre and nutrition hub, providing up to 6,000 hot meals per month to families, school children, and elderly residents. Built with locally sourced materials and staffed by 15 community members, the kitchen will serve traditional Kenyan staples — ugali, sukuma wiki, and hearty stews — prepared fresh each day. Beyond meals, the centre will run weekly nutrition workshops for mothers and a school lunch programme partnering with three nearby primary schools. Lagos Nourish Hub
The Lagos Nourish Hub is a community-led feeding centre planned for the heart of Makoko, one of Lagos's most vibrant yet underserved waterfront neighbourhoods. Home to over 100,000 residents, Makoko faces persistent food insecurity — with many families relying on irregular fishing income and lacking access to affordable, nutritious meals. The Nourish Hub will serve as both a daily feeding centre and a community kitchen, providing up to 3,000 hot meals per month to families, children, and elderly residents. Staffed entirely by local community members, the centre will also create 12 full-time jobs and offer basic nutrition education workshops.
